Oh! Uncle Pai I miss u so much

There is a very popular saying in bengali which some what means ’’Memories are always satisfying when u sit down to cherish them’’.This sentiment has been equally voiced by many famous writers like Wordsworth, Shakespeare, Tagore and the list goes on.While writing this review I am really feeling very nostalgic as Tinkle forms that golden memory of my childhood where everything was as clear as the blue sky of Autumn.

As the clouds of growing age fills up my vision, the child inside me still longs for the unlimited hours of pure fun I used to have with every issue of my fortnightly magazine ’’Tinkle’’.I must say that I still remember the poor supandi(i hope I spelt the name right) who despite his best efforts always managed to do an awefull work out of the simple errands given to him.All his world and with it his masters would go topsy -turvy on the simplest of occasions.Nowadays when I suddenly see someone in such a situation or find myself in a similar condition the visions of a very bothered supandi and his even more bothered boss comes to my mind. For suppandi...the editor Uncle Pai was always there to save his grace. But for us the poor souls(!!!!) I really miss u Uncle Pai.

Supandi was not the only bright spot in the magazine(though he was/is a loved character). This magazine really puts an effort through its stories to inculcate good moral values in the soft minds of the children. It also has stories that teach us of our tradition and culture without transcending the limits of decency.

As a child getting free gifts is a dream come true.Uncle Pai even took care of that.Today I can buy as many Tinkles I can but I dont coz I dont want to relinquish the sweet memories I have of this magazine. If I were Wordsworth I would have probably said ’’Let my daffodils sway in the sunlight of my memory till I breath my last’’.

Oh Uncle Pai U are always there....But still I miss u ...I still miss being a child.
