~* Rainy night & a peaceful World ~*

It was a cold night… I was underneath my blanket and it’s raining heavily. Feel so good when it rains and wrapped around a blanket. But how often do I admire the beauty of rain? I wonder what made me pull off my blanket, stepped outside the house. It’s a cold feeling… I am numb… I slipped my legs to get the wet feeling… You never know what we do when we admire the beauty of nature’s love for all of us. I wanted to stay there, watch it still it stops… But it’s a cold night… It’s a cold feeling…

I came back to my room which was stuck with lots of paintings and dimmed with my favorite color green to get a feeling that I am in a different world. I went underneath my blanket… I didn’t get sleep. And you know the reason… It’s raining… I don’t know if you feel the same like I do. I felt restless and got up, went to the kitchen and made a Coffee. I poured the Coffee in my favorite cup, came back to my room. I leaned back on my bed with a pillow as my support. As I was looking around, I saw this book named ‘Tinkle’. I love fairy tales. I remember the times I spent with my grand father where he used to narrate me a lot of them… It’s a good feeling…

I stretched my hand towards the book, holding this coffee on the other hand. I opened it and read this story about a little boy leaving his home to find a job and at the end getting married to the princess for curing her disease. When I read the story, I dreamt and took the role of this little boy who left his home to support his family. It’s a nice way to see ourselves as the character played in this fairy tale however let’s not get into the reality and stick on to ‘stories’.

It’s still raining outside… I can feel the breeze tugging my soul… Like I said in this review till now, I would like to repeat the same statement that ‘It’s a good feeling’…

I flipped through the pages to see if I can find my favorite story ‘Sikari Sambu’… Yes, indeed it’s right here. I often wonder how lucky Sikari Sambu is while achieving his mission. He is cool. He doesn’t take much stress in life. He sleeps whole day and gets out his house when his wife comes along with a broom stick. Wow, that’s what I call it ‘life’.

My memory takes me back to the eighties where I used to hug my grand father and plead him for telling more stories. He used to tell me a lot about them. I used to love listening to the same stories and how I used to play in the rain… I feel nostalgic here…

‘Tinkle’… Without you, I wouldn’t have known Suppandi… He is a stupid soul… ‘Tinkle’ without you, I wouldn’t have known ‘Folk Stories’… ‘Tinkle’ without you, I wouldn’t have enjoyed being wrapped around my blanket sipping this Coffee.

When I was a child and while I sit on my bus waiting to reach on this particular day earlier than usual was not a surprising factor for my parents. They used to keep my copy ready. Well, that was the day this book used to get delivered through post and I knew the day so well. I feel nostalgic again…

It’s kind of stopped raining but then I can sense the drizzle. The drizzle that’s going to bid bye to the heavy rain and I kept this cup on my table, got back underneath my blanket.

It’s been so long since I read ‘Tinkle’ but as I read each story which reminded me of those golden days; I wanted to finish the book.

There is something about this book… It reminds me of a different world. As I flip through this page and read this Nasirudin Hojja’s story, I feel like I was living in that era. That’s the creativity of an artist and all thanks to Anant Pai for sketching beautiful characters like **Kapish, Kalia, Sigal, Chamataka…

It’s** drizzling… I almost finished my book… And there is one more story left. That’s something I wanted to miss but then it’s a short story… Maybe I should read that as well before it stops drizzling… Now, what’s the relationship between this drizzle and the story which is left to read? I know nothing!

I started reading this story and our own wise minister Birbal is the character in it. He happens to walk along with Akbar on the fields and finds a goat which was trapped in a thorn bush. Birbal was talking to Akbar about humanity and also mentioned the fact that all human beings are selfish in their own ways. While seeing this goat being trapped in that thorn bush, Birbal went to help her out. Akbar wanted to question back Birbal and asked him ‘why did you help the goat and you have done something great without being selfish!’… Birbal replies, ‘If I wouldn’t have helped her out from that thorn bush, then in the night when I go to sleep, I wouldn’t get peace of mind thinking about this poor goat who was been trapped’.

Likewise, ‘Tinkle’ is not just a comic book for us to read. There is something more to think if you really want to take the message

.

It stopped drizzling… Silence all around… ‘Tinkle’… ‘Tinkle’… I would read you every rainy night… I would stretch my hand; fetch my Coffee on these lovely rainy nights…‘Tinkle’… ‘Tinkle’… Good night…
