Tinkle is like a comic magazine. It contains lot of characters. It is colorful. The characters range from Uncle anu, Kapish, Tantri the Mantri to pyarelal. It is a very good book if you are interested in reading comics.
The stories in tinkle are written by readers mostly. They also have story contests. Unlike Champak etc. in which comic like stories are rather low in frequency, tinkle is fully a comic type magazine. They accept the stories give their own illustrations and then they publish the stories. They also reward good stories. They have question answer part wherein the readers ask questions relating to scientific aspects, general knowledge etc. which are answered. Such questions published also are given rewards.
The main person linked with Tinkle is Uncle Pai.
Tinkle comes in many forms Tinkle digest, Tinkle fortnightly edition, Tinkle holiday special, A particular character’s edition for e.g. Tinkle Shikari Shambu special etc.
This magazine is amazing. They try to teach scientific aspects to readers by way of Character named Uncle Anu. But what I found was that most Users don’t like it. They like the stories only.
Characters like TIN TIN are have a separate Magazine. They have different stories. The stories are very long. So a separate book is released. I also like the stories of TINTIN mainly because the stories are like suspense thrillers and detective in nature.
Tinkle is not so highly priced. They are in the range which a normal person can afford.
If you see the last pages, I feel that a separate column for subscription. It is found in all the Editions of Tinkle. It is very small.
Another brother of Tinkle is the Amar Chitra Katha editions which normally include the famous collections like Mahabharatha, Ramayana, Jataka Tales, Panchatantra etc.
