Last minute TIPS for attempting CAT

Dear Cataspirants,

While rest of the nation prepares itself for Diwali, the festival of lights, you must be getting ready for CAT; the festival of brights...:-)

I am sure most of you who are sure to make it, will surely not need any tips, but these tips might help those who have a fair chance of making it and are just sitting on edge.

So, sincere advice:

a. Whatever means you were using till now, was OK; but from now on, at this stage, when CAT is just about to pounce, avoid any group preparations. Remember, all you need right now is to clear your written exam. Group discussions and Interview will follow later. Get your priorities right. It is a singles event right now and you will do a lot of good to self, if you spend time preparing without any company. Concentration is the key, and studying by self will help you develop that. Time to look inwards, buddy.

b. Be prepared to take calculated risks while attempting. Let Intelligent guessing rule after your intelligence has helped you to reduce the options to two from four. More often than not, you will find this adding up to your total. Remember, no risk, no gain, but ofcourse, don’t try your luck too hard by relying totally on guessing and putting intelligence totally on rest. You need a wise combination of the two.

c. Last but not the least, Don’t study the night before CAT. It is not one of those exams which you will clear bcos you mugged the right question previous night, as in good old college exams. Freshness and coolness when you enter the hall will pay much more than added knowledge about couple of more English words or Maths fundas. Hence, sleep well.

Wishing you loads of luck!

Manish
