With the advent of MBA boom the choice of MBA schools for the pro course is at the all time high. The associated industry to this also seeing a sudden upsurge. Case in to consideration is that of MBA coaching.
The TIMES, CAREER LAUNCHERS, and the most trusted IMS LEARNING RESOURCES Pvt. LTD. have all jumped in the fray to make the maximum of this opportunity. The approach required and as aptly demonstrated by these institutes is highly professional and that of cut throat competition. But then the students are often left confused. For example recently I read an advertisement of TIMES claiming 700+ selections in IIMs, while CL put the Figure at 650+ and similarly the IMS had it at 600+. Well as far as my info goes there are only as many as roughly 1300 seats at the IIMs.
Well the extent of these gimmicks goes on to prove that the choice should be highly judicious on the students? front. Any let up in the right decision can actually be highly painful loss for the future aspirations.
I was also faced with the similar judgment to make in the recent past and the choice that I made at that moment after a care full analysis of the coaching at my disposal (in Lucknow) was that of the IMS resources Pvt. Ltd. Not that I was impressed by the previous track records, which certainly was impressive, but the choice of the coaching was done several parameters.
First and foremost consideration was the faculty and the exposure of preparing winners at this level, secondly the course content, Study Material, thirdly the network and student base for the comparative analysis of the scores that we get, and last but not the least the counseling ability to eliminate the apprehensions and the blockages at mental front. Other then that, number of times it happens that pre occupied by the wish to get the call from the colleges we tend to ignores the post call formalities, and the ability of the institute to prepare for them, that is GD/PI.
At IMS I always felt a great level of satisfaction of learning and moving ahead in the right direction towards getting through the right colleges via CAT (Only exam I applied for). The faculty here was that of IITians or MBAs with the centre manager being IIMs pass out with healthy experience of the arena. The ability of the faculty to teach the basics and then build it from there to the fast track solving of the problem helped a lot and the time to time test with individual analysis and problem solving sessions were a great help and a appreciations in the form of regular postings at notice board of top improver, achiever or consistent performer pepped you up to perform better and achieve higher.
The course material, and study material provided for the self study and the later home preparations was also excellent and with the appropriate balance and blend of advanced knowledge with basics of understandings. Although I still think that the Math?s sections need to go for a little lift in standards, and got to get more comprehensive. Even on this front the support of the faculty was handy as I was continuously given the additional material as and when required to keep the practice going and the mind tuned up.
The post call formalities were also well addressed at the IMS, with the video sessions to help correct your body language and the Vedic ways of concentrating helping you stay cool and focused, helped a lot in the impatient hours of the wait before GD or PI starts. The material provided for the brushing up of the GK, GA and the other current affairs topics were very tacit and well scripted for understanding and correlating, for the day of your GD or PI.
The question bank for the PI is also exhaustive, and the 90% questions that I have come across in the PI so far are all from the same bank. The faculty and the centre manager also go long way to explain, construct and device a perfect answer for your profile if in any case you may need help. But this exercise is not spoon feeding as the answers are mostly left to you to find answers to and the faculty intervenes when the fine tuning is required.
All in all I would say that from a field to which I belonged, which was strongly disassociated to MBA regimen, I was able to make a successful transition thanks to the rigorous yet refreshing ways of preparation at IMS. At present I have calls from all top allied of the CAT. And though I am a strong believer in the fact that no two men are alike and ones success and satisfaction does not guarantee others, yet I would strongly recommend IMS to all MBA aspirants.
Not only cause I am satisfied, but cause having seen them work I know they have a student base that?s best in business (>25000), Material that?s most sought after, reputed and dynamic faculty, and flexibility to make arrangements for the proper learning of all type of students, from average to genius.
