~*$$Computer-Ouch Ouch, Isse koi bahar pheko??~*$$

Note: Review based on personal thinking & experience. No offense please.

Today Geek Airlines is serving ice creams, cakes, pastries, burgers in its flight to chennai  as its anuj bhaiya’s birthday today!

My cool MS friends, like I have mentioned it earlier in my reviews that most of owner’s of the computer/Mobile/Laptop’s/Palmtop’s  across the globe are facing problems  due to the intrusion of many ’Keeda maukaura’s’ like worms, trojans, viruses, malicious scripts which in turn cause panic amongst the people. Internet is one major reason for all this trouble. Now day’s internet is available in most of the developed areas & so cheap that hundred’s of connections are getting installed everyday. So, to get rid of those threats, basic principles need to be followed.

-

What is Black Worm?

-

Like all other threats, Black-Worm is a mass-mailing worm called ’Nymex’ but is more destructive and Dangerous than others. It would affect the  computers running Microsoft Windows, on the 3rd of every month. The virus was discovered at 6:12 am IST on the 17th January of this year & has already affected around 8, 000*(Out of which one victim was me) * computers in India itself, leaving behind a worry for the concerned department. For e.g.-(Anti-Spam Out blaze Corp).

How does it enter you computer/What does it do?

-

It mostly enters the system, when you open suspicious emails and attachments sent to you from both unknown/known senders. Also spreads through many websites, P2P Software’s etc.

On entering the comp., it does the followings things immediately:

  1. Firstly attacks the antivirus files making it useless and then destroys them.

  2. Deletes the Word(.doc) files, various presentations(.ppt) & Excel(.xml) files.

  3. It enter’s your address book and propagates itself through email only.

  4. The window starts shutting down automatically on various occasions.

  5. Crawls from one computer to another.(If connected to each other)

What happened to my computer?

-

On the 3rd of February around 4pm, as usual I was surfing the net and logged into my mouth shut account. After 12 minutes, my antivirus showed a virus warning. I stated the repairing process. Then as I went through my father’s office account files(.doc), I found that something was wrong.Oh.gosh.3 files got deleted automaticaally. On checking the antivirus status, it was not responding even after re-starting the comp. By that time I understood, my computer was infected with nymex. As Tension kept increasing in my mind, finally downloaded the black worm remover from symantec.com & was lucky that it got deleted but I had to suffer a great loss of the documents.

Precautionary Measure’s:

-

  1. Keep your antivirus and system files up to date.

  2. Download an antivirus(if you don’t have one).

  3. Keep the windows Firewall on(Win. XP) otherwise download others.

  4. Do not download email attachments unless it’s urgent.

  5. P2P software’s should be uninstalled, till this thing gets in control.

  6. Avoid keeping your precious data in the hard disk. Burn it onto a cd.(If Possible)

  7. Download the worm remover today from symantec.com or bitdefender.com.

  8. Cut down your internet usage for that particular day.(3rd of every month)

  9. Be alert, if infected shut down your comp so as to reduce further damage.

10.Check cd’s, floppy’s, pen drives for any virus, worms before opening them.

AUR PHIR->

BLACK WORM KE BHI CHAKKE CHOOTH JAYENGE.
