Dear friends, I know many of them trying/ willing to purchase used mobile phones for low budget on certain circumstances. You might liked the model but cant able to afford that price and at last you fix up your mindset to purchase the same model on second hand / used mobiles.
But do you know how risk it is? But don’t worry you will not fall on risk if you follow my secrets.
- Mobile’s warranty checking: While purchasing mobile please check your mobile’s warranty. china mobiles, American mobiles, Korean mobiles and some mobiles will not support this code. So please refer your imei code for your mobile model.
for example: when you enter the code, *#06# you can see, your mobile’s remaining warranty period.
- Mobile checking: While purchasing mobile please go to the power standby mode, just keep the mobile in hand and wait till the mobile screen to turn off automatically due to inactivity under sleep mode. Now after 5 minutes just make active your mobile and check how many percentage% of discharge on your mobile battery has gone.
For Example: Before power standby mode, battery charge was 50% but after power standby mode, your mobile battery is 47% or 46% within 5 minutes. which means the mobile is dead.
- Charge and Battery checking: Just keep mobile in charge for 5 minutes and watch the charge percentage. If the mobile is charged 5% in 5 minutes then the mobile is in good condition. If the mobile is charged only 1% or 2% then the mobile is dead.
Note: please use the mobiles original charger while checking.
Call Checking: Just make an outgoing call for a duration of 5 to 10 minutes from the mobile and check the voice clarity of mic with respect to mobile speaker on both loud mode as well as earphone mode.
Signal checking: Just check whether the signal is at maximum coverage. if it shows in/out signal and up/down signal some times with caution or x mark signal then the signal receiver of your mobile has failed. So check for the best signal incoming’s on your mobile.
Data connection checking: Just be connected with Data connection for high signals with the speed of connectivity under kbps/ mbps data received / transferred. So at this point of note please check whether your is slowing down or hanging.
Note: If the mobile is slowing down or hanging then the mobile software is not good or damaged.
- Wifi Hotspot checking: Usually wifi hotspot range for any mobile is 20 meters at indoors. So just share your friends mobile hotspot and check whether your mobile is able to receive the connection within that range with good speed of connectivity.
Note: If your mobile is reconnecting or Authentication problem or zero signal then there is definitely an issue with your mobile’s wifi.
- Camera checking: Just check all camera’s according to the actual pixel specification for the particular model of your mobile. Check both front and back camera in night / dark area with dim light or take a photo on maximum zoom to measure its accurate clarity.
Note: If the picture taken is blurred then there is definitely an issue with your mobile’s camera.
- Checking External Memory card: Insert External memory card on the mobile’s memory card slot and check whether your mobile is able to detect the memory card with its files on it as in a readable condition.
Note: If your memory card if not detected by your mobile then there is definitely an issue with the memory card slot of your mobile. For this check, please use a good condition working memory card to check accurate result,
- Last Check(Very Important):
(i) Check whether the mobile case lable IMEI number matches to the software inside that mobile.
(ii) Check whether IMEI Activation lock status is ON/OFF. To confirm, whether the particular IMEI is locked at your country or not.
(iii) Check whether the IMEI status is in Blacklist or no. To confirm, whether the particular mobile is a stolen mobile or not.
My Advice: As much as possible, please take a fresh new mobile from the original company/ branded retailer to escape from these risk factors. OR
Still, if you wish to go ahead with a used mobile then please follow my steps and finally do a factory reset of your mobile. Then use it as your mobile.
