Obesity in childrens is a universal health problem of today. These days we can find many children who are over weight and which is not healthy at all. There are various causes of childhood obesity such as wrong lifestyle, lack of physical activities, consuming junk or unhealthy diet, no outdoor activities etc. Obesity in children can be a serious health concern and it can lead to many health conditions like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, CVD, Typle 2 diabetes, sleep apnea and even more. Beside this obese teens can be easily targeted for social discrimination and can be body shamed by bullies. Childrens are the future of any country and they must be healthy physically as well as mentally. But the good thing is that childhood obesity can be controlled by following some healthy diet, physical activity and with changing lifestyle.
Here I would like to share some tips regarding the same.
1 Provide healthy and nutritional diet to your kids, include more vegetables and fruits in the meals.
2 Stop buying and giving junk food and sugary beverages to them; these food are not just unhealthy but they lead to weight gain very easily.
3 Encourage your kids to play outdoors, make outdoor healthy picnic plans with them. If you can join them in outdoor games it would boost them fully.
4 Give your kids their favorite fruits as snacks not fries.
5 Encourage them to drink lots of water and provide them fresh fruit juice instead of sweetie drinks.
6 Reduce their Tv or other electronic gadget time, its seen that nowadays kids stay glued to their computer screens or with their smartphones and do not prefer to play outside.
7 If your child is overweight then choose lean meats and low fat dietary products.
8 Here I am adding one more point which is also vital; sit with your kids and describe them how obesity can be dangerous for them so that if they are outside then they choose healthy meals for them. Tell them about healthy lifestyle and its advantages.
9 Giving them their favorite dessert or meals once a while is OK but do tell them to exercise, so the calories gets burn.
10 You can use some creativity and cook tasty yet nutritional dishes at home with the help of healthy recipes.
