Try Try Until You Succeed!!!

’’If u hadn’t seen failure, success would’ve never mattered’’ – Anonymous

For any Indian student the GREATEST hurdle now-a-days are his score, percentile, grades, rank, etc. May it be a student of 1st standard or of MBA, all that matters is A GOOD SCORE. More than the student himself, its an issue of prestige and pride for the parents for which they build TREMENDOUS pressure on their children to study for more than 18-20 hrs a day and do nothing else. It isn’t easy for all to handle the pressure and many adopt the easy path of committing suicide!!! Every second day we hear of these in the news. But as we Indians are, we can learn lessons from books but we fail to learn lessons from life.

I never faced any pressure for studies (or for that matter anything: p) from my family, for I was always a fine student. Not that I got great scores always, but for the fact that I work VERY hard on anything that’s assigned to me. I can’t remember a day when I went to bed without studying for an hour or so if not more, no matter exam or no exam! This is what my parents always taught me, hard work never goes waste. If u have put in ur best efforts, rest is left to luck to decide, but ur hard work will ripe benefits in some way or the other.

My Mr. BF....He took his MBA exams few weeks back, I know he worked SO hard for it. I saw him toil and toil and toil. Waking up at 5 and bathing and getting to books and studying for unlimited hours. Cutting on food to help fight lethargy. Drinking tea, to keep awake. Avoid making many friends to remain focused. Not taking MY calls to avoid his mind from diverting. Not going out of the hostel for days together to stay away from getting tiered. He did it all. But unfortunately his results were below what he expected!!! Now this is my effort to make him believe in himself yet again and try….

Let me quote here a story that I heard in an interview of Anupam Kher that inspired me. Once when Kher was awaiting his 10th results, his father took him out for a lunch at a BIG restaurant, and gave him a GRAND treat. When Kher asked his dad what this feast was for, his dad told him that he had FAILED in his exams. And his dad gave him a treat so that he NEVER feels scared of failure!!!

Something my bf always tells me is that “life is a fight” so now when I wanna see him being a fighter, the way he has always been, why is he scared? What’s stopping him? Where is all the confidence that he won me with? : )

If one does not study or work hard, there are reasons to regret, but when we did our best, then maybe destiny’s to be blamed or maybe we need to work harder. Thinking “I couldn’t have done better than this” or that “I cannot work harder” is such a waste. Remember what we tell a small child who falls and cries…”don’t cry. U will learn to play the right way when u fall again and again”. Then when it comes to us, why do we forget to follow the same?

Its all about Trying and trying until u succeed. And as long as you believe in yourself and people who MATTER to and you believe in you, there should be no stopping you! Pressure is a word that should not exist in your dictionary. Failure is something NO one can give you, but you yourself! If you just take a low percentile as a learning experience, set a new strategy and get back to work harder, there is nothing that can stop you!

And for you huny, I think you got a ROCKING score, who cares what others got? I believe in you more than myself and so does your family, who else do you care for? And I swear I’d love to see u working with whatever company u get, coz I know u would succeed in no matter what you do. It’s the zeal you worked with that made me sure that you were the one for me, coz if someone can be so passionate about achieving success, he has to be the best!!!

So for all those who consider getting a little less than expected score in some dumb exams as the end of life…. GIMME A BREAK PUHLEEZZZ!!!!
