Consumer Act & Benefits

Do not jump into the conclusion. Consumer court is always good but it will take some time to get the fruit. 1000 of people benefitted with Consumer court. Of course, you have to read newspapers also as frequently some professionals are exempted from the Consumer Act.

For Example- recently Supreme Court’s order says Advocates are exempted and not in the purview of consumer court. If you file a grievence against a Advocate - Vakil without knowing the above, then when your matter come up for hearing say after three or four months, you will feel that you unnecessarily wasted time. It is better to approach directly the court.

In India, it takes long time to have an order in hand. Of course there will be hassles and patience is a must and you should be ready to spend money too. Indian acts are like that, wherever you go there will be some intermediate person who will extort money from the affected people for their own benefit. Definitely they will help you but against it will depend on your luch. Such people guage you first to see how much they can take from you. Of course, there are good human beings also who are not looking only monetary benefits but the actual facts.
