When I was young I would repair the old Dot matrix printers and now we are in the age where we can’make a Copy’ or in indian english zerox in COLOR. This is how printers and copiers have evolved.there are many reviews on how to purchase and why to purchase a printer.but the service part.haa that is one area that I am good at.the Ink jet printer like any other electronic device is a very sensitive device and needs to be maintained too.
the ink cartridges have to be cleant once in a 25 prints.this is how you clean them.take a blotting paper and dab the bottom of it on the paper.it should blot more ink.the more the merrier/better.
If the ink cartridge is not used for a long time, say for a month or so then it is advisable to cover the bottom’noozle’ with a tape making sure that there is a small peice of plastic that sits on the noozle part and thus making this part’unstickable. this is for protection. You see the air that we breath also makes sure that the ink in your cartridge will dry out in a months time.
also make sure when there is any problems in printing you clean the contacts at the back of the cartridge with a eraser and then dust the residue and also the small contacts at the back of the’well’ in which the cartridge sits and also blow away the residue.making sure that the printer is off all the time.
now that was the hardware part.what about the software.
you all know what to do if the printer does not print when you give it a job.make sure that you go in the’services’ section and check to see if the print spooler is enabled and set to automatic. also make sure that there are no print jobs in queue, however if there are any pruge them and restart the computer and the printer.this also resets the memory in the computer and the printer.
