Running car with LPG

I had converted Maruti OMNI to run with LPG as fuel.

It was 1999 model and was not fitted with inbuilt catalyc converter.

The kit used was LOVATO.

The fitting of the kit was very professional, inside bonnet, cylinder placement and a change-over switch on the dash-board.

I used it for TWO years making roughly 15000 - 16000 km exclusively on LPG and may be 10 - 15 km on petrol between cylinder change / refill time.

Advantages

  • Very cost effective, it used to run for 300 - 325 km per cylinder in new delhi city usage

Disadvantages

  • Slight feel in pick-up, while in 1st gear

  • Starting trouble during winter, the starting battery required of higher capacity

  • During cross country drive in winter time, the gas gets frozen when used at a long stretch non-stretch  - this can be overcome by converting in petrol from dash-board mounted change over switch  -  this automatically coverts fuel input from LPG to petrol

The kits are available for all petrol cars

This is advisable for anyone who is a modest user of car and has a high concern to reduce his/her fuel bill

NB: I don’t possess any vehicle presently. I find using cabs / metro / bus very very good proposition than self-driving / self-maintaining vehicles. I don’t have any conntact details of workshops offering this service
