LPG CONVERSION- HOW MUCH CAN I SAVE

I have converted  my car(Opel Corsa) two years back and I am glad that I have converted it. The mileage for my car on petrol is around 9 in city and around 11 in highway. Initially on lpg my vechicle was giving me a mileage of 7 in city and around 10 in highway.

Then i  made few modification to my lpg system which improved my pick up and mileage . I am sure all those who has converted would like to know how I did it.

Well to start with I visited a lot of website  which has infomation about lpg conversion- I could not get much information. Then my second step with to visit the lpg retrofitters - and I located one in koramangala- this guys were pretty good at the work. Their worshop is on the inner ring road near to the Egipur signal. I don’t  remember the worshop name but they are Lovato dealers. They have a website you can get some good information about lpg conversion;- https://petrol2lpg.com

They adviced me to upgrade the basic system to a close loop system - but I was not particular in spending more money on the sytem- so they adviced me to change my mixers- I had to shell out around Rs1300 for the imported computerised mixer - but I feel it was worth it . Then they adjusted the gaps of my spark plug and reduced the gap for better fire. Secondly my timings was  aso advanced -

After the full thing  I am happy to tell u all that I am getting a mileafe of 10.5 km in city and around13

in higway.

Saving wise with the increased lpg prices -it worked out to around 35% and the best option to do at present is to fill from your house cylinder which works out pretty cheap. A dosmestic cylinder of 14.2 kg is around 25liters for which you pay around Rs310 which works out to about Rs 12 a liter -so your cost per km comes to almost a rupee.

Now to fill the lpg from your house cylinder you need to have a converter. There are basically 3 type of converters- Manual, electrical and DC operated . This machines are pretty save and transfer lpg from the domestic cylinder to  the lpg tanks in around 15 minutes . And they are safe as the LPg is transferred  in a liquied form. I bought this machine from Coimbotore .but I heard it is available in Bangalore too.

Now by using house Lpg I am able to save about 80% on my monthly fuel expenses - Recently I had gone to Chennai and you won’t believe  that I managed the full jouney with one tank full( that is 2 cylinders) So my cost to go to chennai and back was -GUESS- yes it is Rs 620

But hai guys I don’t advice you to do the same because getting cylinder is difficult- the first thing and secondly house lpg is cheap because it is subsidised and meant for house use only. but something breaking the rules is fine as long as you save some money
