Who can escape from this weakness forScentsitivity?Hmmm.perfumes, truely changes my moodn soothes the senses.Have u observed that any big supermalls for that matter always has the perfume section at its entrance? Its all about aromatherapy, yes, it takes u to that superficial highn creates that pleasant ambiencen relaxes you to bring to that mood for shopping.
Moving on lemme, present some personal tips on perfumes:
( I have used the term cologne(mildest), toilette, perfume(strongest) interchangeably in my revu.)
1)A spray of perfumes usually has 2-3 layers to it.The smell, one senses as soon as u spray is the top layer(containg alcohol)n fizzles out after a small time, say, half an hour, so dont get fooled by the inital odour .So the best way is to spray it, wait for half an hour, n then decide as to whether it really suits u, as the base layer is the one that shows of its longeitivity.
2) When u r choosing a perfume, dont try more than 2-3 at a time, as u may not be able to differntiate the subsequent ones.So the sales attendant may ask u to smell coffee powder or some other strong flavour, before u can test something more, else go aroundn check out after sometime.
3) If u r looking something for daily use say office, always choose a mild perfume that makes ur collegue wonder who is wearing it rather than announce ur presence even before u enter thro the door.
4) If u r staying in a hot, humid environment please avoid strong perfumes.(better dont use it at all)
5) Please dont waste ur money on deos as it serves no purposen some popular ones in India like Playboy, Brute evoporates even before u step out of ur house.
6) Now a bit of my own experimentation, pls dont laugh. Even tho its not advisable to wear more than one at a time, but if u trying a very milder one, u can try out a combination of two to get that lingering effectn yes its effective .But never ever try this with something strong, as it can be too nauseating .
7)Never use perfumes unless u smell fresh else it sux bigtime.Hope u got what I meant.
8) Aviod perfumes if u r wearing silkish or leatherish garments.
9) A perfume suiting a person may not go well with other person as it depends largely on unique body odour, skin typen stuff
So check out your own preferences.
10) Another personal tip, if u wannave that long lasting pleasantness feel on ur clothes.Spray some perfume on ur iron board with a bit of dampenersn then press ur clothes, it stays longer!
11)Men better avoid floral, fruit fragrances!
12)Now the problem is to which one to buy? Everyone will irrespectively start their lists with Escape, eternity, hugo.etc(n each one ofemve revus here) but for me its reserved only for some occassions(sinful price tag man!) rather than for general purpose daily use .So lemme recommend something that is cheap(around Rs 500), practically affordable for daily use n available in Indian marts:
Adidas: surprised! No it isnt the shoes Im talking of . This is my all time favourite, sort of cologne, bcoz of its mildn long lasting effects. It comes in 3(dynamic, teamn classic)mild fragrances, but the best is the one with that fresh aqua feel(dynamic), eventho others r equally good .This is available internationallyn the price is almost the same everywhere, around$15n in india around Rs500.Do try this out if u havent(n lemme know).
Caresse for Men: Is a bit stronger intially, but gets milder after sometime. This has that strong citrus odourn suits well
American dream/Polo sport:Has that sportish tangerine odour, but not that long lasting as adidas.
Udy: This is the strongest of all here, n mainly on strong amberish side.So may not be to everybodys liking
Angel from Charlie: This is the new one, n not that old red bottled ones.Has that tingling fresh water fragrance
Prohibition:I luv its mild cool lime scent
Prince de Galles: This is really mild, but surprisingly long lasting
(Anyway will add more as I recollect, check out this space)
One more thing that r unique to these perfume bottles r its unique sexy smouldering aesthetic shapes, n is a collectors passion . Some designer houses like Chanel, Gucci has special designers to come up with those innovative designsn colours. So if u r looking for a perfect gift, I think perfumes(aftershaves) can fit the bill perfectly.
So cmon lemme know if uve any other tips.
