Working with a company, which is world leader in e-recruitment, gave me a good insight to actually how this field of recruitment works. Interaction to levels starting from HR Heads, to Managers and from Placement consultants to Jobseekers gave me overall view of this industry and on the basis of that I thought I can make some value addition to this topic so…………….. Here comes Bush this time with the real time tips on Job search.
Before actually jumping into topic, I want to comment on the present scenario which is absolutely fantastic, the demand is more than supply, economy is good, Pay scales are getting higher (excuse me for mine), there are ample of options, profiles are getting creative and overall environment seems to be positive. So chill out don’t be scared for job.
Warning:Freshers directly go to 2.PLAN
For any jobseeker to go ahead I would recommend him to follow a route :
Analyze
Plan
Act
1.Analyze:
a) Emergency of getting a job?
In the first place this is what we have to see, how much time we have to take up new job? Answer to this question will help you understanding your position i.e. are you desperate? Or you are looking for better job but have good time as present job is working well or everything seems to be perfect but don’t mind if something new great change happens. Ones you have this you go nxt…
b) Expected rise in profile and money?
If you are desperate for a job them you have to compromise on this but for the people with second option they can seriously start figuring out what exactly they are looking for in terms of designation, Nature of work, Package, Brand name etc for third ones anyway its surprise.
c) Are you looking for a particular brand/profile?
People with first option can directly go to ‘3.ACT’; for them it’s getting late (I understand) for second ones again hold redo everything don’t hurry, for third ones it just comes in their way so hold on take time and decide on your long term goals, is it going to help?, is it fun? Figure out and ………nxt
d) Can you take up new challenges?
I think this is the most important thing one has to analyze. Generally we have set standards, competence and set educational backgrounds on basis of which we take up the job but for next big thing are you prepared? With your experience, qualification, willingness…………….Decide.
2.PLAN
For any job search there are three main channels
i)Newspaper adds
ii)E-recruitment portals
iii)Placement consultancies
i)Its always a big tool for desperate jobseekers you find very hot vacancies here and you can find immediate solution to your probs so keep eye on this ( Ascent, Express carriers, Avenues, Jobz etc) for second category jobseekers if you have decided on something like brand you can always keep track of it and understanding trend of the particular co hit it when it is hot. For third ones…… don’t waste time.
ii)Naukri, Monster, Jobsahead, Timesjobs, IT-People.com, Jobstreet so many of them but use first three or at max four to maximize results. For First category jobseekers its required to register your resume as well as go for job postings for second ones do register your resume with the desired profile you want and for third ones this time you need to do something register yourself so people who wanna contact you at least have some details.
iii)Really a good option for first category jobseeker bcaz they usually have hot vacancies for second one s – do visit sometimes, be categorical tell them what you want, for third ones – they will come behind you so ……… do what you want.
Now
3.ACT : as told to you in above paragraphs
”My verdict: Don’t Hurry , Be Merry”
