There are multiple options to travel by bus between Mumbai & Goa but which one to choose !
I recently ended my Goa trip and chose GTDC bus Kadamba Volvo for my to and fro journey. heres My review.
Good Part :
Timing - Bus leaves and arrives on time. If you have to make on time, you prefer this bus. Since operated by Govt of Goa, they dont try to fill the extra passengers.
Price: you will notice that these buses have one of the lowest fares on this route along with VRL. If booked
4-5 days in advance in season, you can save some money.
Stop overs are ok with decent and clean toilets. Food too is manageable though these places are expensive. Better have your dinner before you board. If not possible then carry your own meal. If that too is not possible, you can have your meals here.
Sound systems are good.
Not that good part:
Buses are not multi axle and thus less comfortable. Seats too are small.
No blankets provided so carry your own else you will shiver whole night.
It goes from old Goa highway so chances are you might feel sick (lots of twist & turns). They do carry plastic bags in case you need them however carry lemon and other items if you too have such issue.
Remember its a Govt. vehicle and thus vulnerable to different checks from Maharashtra police while coming back from Goa. Do not carry any liquor bottle. If found, they would confiscate it that would leave you high and dry.
My bus was checked 4 times in a night. Its anyway not allowed to carry liquor bottles from Goa to Maharashtra.
