I don’t know how to put this.but after this trip I understood.why people go for Makemytrip, yatra and cleartrip etc even if they quote more and not something like travel triangle, I need trip etc etc.
After this trip I felt that travel triangle is a two chair, two table, 1 computer and 1 telephone company and that telephone will be never answered.
And I don’t have many words to say about I Need Trip
The reasons why I selected I need trip from travel triangle.
1)Rs.76000(per two persons) for Malaysia and Singapore trip which was reasonable compared to other agents sent by travel triangle including travelling cost from Malaysia to Singapore as per our initial discussion "on phone"
2) Travel agent promise to provide dinner coupons for two in Singapore also discussed only "on phone"
3)Better trip experience as promised
Unfortunately the above two discussions are on only phone.and people are intelligent enough to not to mention on the actual "official" communication and we are gullible enough to not to check that as we are busy enough to plan other things
And few days before of our travel it was mentioned to us that travel from Malaysia to Singapore is not present in the itinerary and as we are not that intelligent people
to check that during our initial booking itself, we had to transfer Rs.2000 for our Malaysia to Singapore travel. If we were intelligent enough we would have selected a different agent as it would have been initial
because there were very little margins compared to other agents. I really didn’t mind transferring the Rs.2000 as this small amount does not really make a difference for us as we are expecting
a better trip experience(here comes the first compromise)
Also we were in Singapore and expecting dinner coupons so that we can go for some romantic dinner which never came and we were trying to call the agents to see if we have any coupons waiting for us somewhere
and then our average intelligent minds were pointed that it is not mentioned in the itinerary. We still thought it is ok and we didn’t want to create much trouble. So we let that go and this is the second compromise
And the final shock came on the final day in Singapore.
We have Singapore Universal studios planned in the itinerary which is from 9AM to 5.30PM. After returning from the universal studios at 5.30PM we came to know that we need to pay half day charges for the hotel as we overstayed.
That is because we are supposed to check out the hotel by 12Noon and it is booked till that noon that day whereas our flight is at 10.40PM and pick up is at 7.40PM. So hotel guys deducted 85.40 Singapore dollars from our
security deposit(100Singapore dollars) and returned the remaining 14.60 Singapore dollars. I have visited many places before using MakeMyTrip none of the hotels asked us for security deposit. We were even’t
warned that we had to pay security deposit at the hotel and is not mentioned in the itinerary nor on phone. Luckily I have enough cash to pay the security deposit.
People travelling for trips usually pay money in advance to the agents so that they take care of everything in our trip and we carry only enough money for our shopping and food.
I know that we can be easily blamed because being educated, and the itinerary says we are supposed to checkout the hotel by 12noon and we should have checked out and leave to
universal studios with the luggage in the trunk of the vehicle and carry through out the day in universal studios and fresh up somewhere(May be you guys assumed that we do not have to fresh up at all or we will find some road side places
or airport toilets to freshen up). But average minds who are already mentally distressed about pick-ups and drops, and are supposed to wake up early and leave to universal studios,
and have to fresh up in the evening to leave to airport at 7.40PM and who were supposed to be on a fun trip because agents has already taken care of all the things will not have the capacity/time
to think about the checkout schedule that too without at least being informed on phone. Our average minds were still trying to figure out how to be in the universal studios between 9AM and 5 PM
and fresh up for the departure in the evening and still be checked out from the hotel before 12noon on the same day
And the last thing I want to highlight, we had to activate our SIM card both in Malaysia and Singapore and call agents/offices in India to make sure that we are picked up properly and things are happening as promised.
I spent around Rs.600 only for this on top of all the mental tensions.
Effectively I spent more than what MakeMyTrip has claimed and they have provided the best trip experiences to us.
I know all these doesn’t really matter to you as you were already paid enough and I don’t think you are proficient enough to do something about this.
I can assure you one thing, my friends and my Wife’s friends and their friends will not make the mistake we made.
After this review I gave to them.I Need trip called us and offered 40 Singapore dollars for the dinner coupons.And about the other mistakes they said they cant do much expect telling us "I am really Sorry"
