Everyone desires a car, Some can afford new and some go for used cars.Before getting used car you need to educate yourself about some important aspects of buying used cars.
Here are some tips and checklist before you choose the car:
- First of all, you need to set your budget and negotiate accordingly cause there is a high margin in the used car business and setting a budget and negotiating helps you in getting a good deal.
2.When you select some vehicle at dealer ask them for car’s service history, It will help you in knowing all the mechanical problems car had in past and if the car was serviced on time and maintained properly by the previous owner.
3.Take a thorough test drive for inspecting any suspension issues, steering issues and any clattering and rattling noises are in the car.
4.Check under the hood, look for any corrosion, dents or damage due to weather.Check if the timing belt is a snug fit and there is no wear and tear occurred to belt.
5.Before choosing a vehicle to know about the reliability of the brand you are choosing, If you choose reliable brand there are fewer chances that car would break down or have any major issues in near future.
6.Do not buy a car right away even if you like it, There might be better options and prices available at other dealers.Visit multiple dealers, take your time and choose.
7.Check odometer readings and age of the car, As some dealers tend to tamper with odometer readings to fool their customer and sell the vehicle at higher price cause of lower running kms of the car.
8.Choose finance plans wisely as used car finances have a higher rate of interest that new car finance.Their loan repayment period is also small.Amount offered my banks depends upon vehicle and condition of the vehicle.
9.Check insurance policy of the car to know about the Initial depreciating value of the car to get an idea about the value of the car.Check policy renewable date as that cost is also to be beared by you.Check for a policy which has a long period to of renewal.
10.Check for all the exterior and interior problems and stater, battery issues of the vehicle.check all the lights are working properly, Check all the tires including spare tire are in good condition.Check all the equipment in the toolkit are there.And most importantly take a well-educated mechanic with you to check the car will be of great help in getting a good car and will know all the shortcomings in the vehicle if you buy the particular vehicle.
