Advice - not wise

I believe it is foolish for one person to decide what should others watch and why should they watch.

There are different objectives with which people go to watch movies. Some want to gather memories they can live with even 30 years from now- some just want 3 hours of a stay in a different world -

Often, in today’s world - I have observed that value based movies are discarded in no time. Ironically plots with polygamy and extra marital affairs are being appreciated especially if someone’s favourite star acts in it

Let’s understand one thing - for some people movies are a means to get educated - for example- movies like Apaharan etc which act as a mirror and show the reality to the audience

I have one slight problem here - one should understand that cinema is mass media. The right place to educate is schools and colleges and forums like that

Why is is that a mass media is used to communicate strange concepts like lesbianism and others? Are the filmmakers understanding what kind of audience comes to watch?

One cannot mix social thought and commerce. If you have a social objective- go to schools and colleges - take the pains to educate them and ensure that your message is delivered

For most people - cinema is entertainment - and it rather be that way. Who wants a slice of reality? People go to watch movies on holidays - a movie is not a newspaper. Lastly - to advice is only being unwise

One can have an opinion and it should be welcomed - but advice is a strict no no. Do comment on my opinion

Regards,

Saurabh
