Recently, we moved from Delhi to Gurgaon and used the services of mover/packer agency. Review about the same. Arrangement: We had to pack and move an entire 2.5 BHK + 1 balcony from Delhi to Gurgaon.I called up Agrawal packers who on telecon said it would amount to 15K. Rejected. Then called up 3-4 more ’seemingly’ local and unbranded packers, Professional Packers (PP), Hare Rama (HR) and Tirupati Packers (TP). These guys had quoted almost 6.5K on phone.
The KRA’s were no damages and timely delivery at low cost. Survey : I had called all the 3 parties’ surveyors at almost the same time. PP and HR surveyors came in 15 minutes of each other. I made it a point to introduce them. PP surveyor had almost finished his survey and was noting his points when HR guy came in. PP quoted some 9K, and reduced 1K, explicitly stating that was because he saw competition. Good business sense, however lost my faith in them.
HR guy still quoted 0.5k lower than PP. Essentially PP and HR were harping on service. An hour later TP guy came in checked in 5 min flat, gave me practical suggestions and how they will do it. I was impressed by this, TP also quoted almost 1.5K less than the HR guy. TP finalised it was. Packing: We were to shift on a Saturday. The guys came at 8:15 (instead of promised 8) in the morning, which was quite OK. 5 people in all, surveyed the entire furniture, made a plan and started packing.
They had got quite a handful of cartons, wrapping plastic, cardboard sheets and tools as well. Packing was quite fast and efficient, didnt break anything as such in packing. Delicate (tearbale) items like sofa etc, were packed nicely in carboard sheets and wrapped in plastic. Loading: From the 3rd floor till the container, loading was done nicely. Other than 1 flower pot, again nothing was broken or damaged. Transportation: The driver knew all the roads (at least in Gurgaon), hence it was easy. Was driving at a comfortable 40 kmph speed, no issues in keeping track of him while we were leading the way. Unloading : Again pretty good and fast this time, considering this was ground floor. Unpacking: Was super fast. They arranged all the items wherever suggested. No chu cha, no nothing. Quite co-operative. At the end, they took almost all the cartons, as well as cardboard sheets and plastic. We found this weird, and were happy. No kuda kachra in our house to be disposed off! Probably they would have sold it off to kabadi waala and earned something. All the better. Basically, this episode of outsourcing packing, and unpacking was a good experience for us. Negatives – actually nothing that I can think of. Checked the bill as well, which ahd the Sales Tax No., hence assume that they will pay Sales Tax Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone in the NCR region.
