He has been standing there for 5000 years for you!

So who doesn’t know of Tirupati. It is a very famous centre where thousand of Hindus flock everyday. It is home for Lord Venkateswara’s

who has been standing there for almost 5000 years. This is one of the temple which I have visited more times than in my life. It has

become a habit with me to visit this temple once every 6 months or so. As per schedule everytime I start out my travel to Tirumala from

Bangalore around 9 p.m. in the night and land up in Tirupati around 3 a.m. early in the morning, so that I can start walk all the way to

Tirumala on foot by 6 a.m. To be frank I had enjoy every trip I take to Tirumala.

As usually reach the top around 6 a.m. in the morning take bath and stand in the Special Darshan. It is a joy to stand in the queue hear the sound, hymns of Lord. The Lord is open for darshan around 6 a.m. in the morning for public. I usually come out after having the darshan around 10-11 a.m. in the morning.

Tirumala one of the famous and most visited piligrimage centre is home for Lord Venkateswara. This temple is consider to be the second

richest temple in the world after Vatican City. The temple is situated on the top of the seven hills. Everyday around 50, 000 people get the

luck to darshan of Lord by standing in the long queues called Sudarsanam (Free Darshan) or Special Darshan.

It is said that Lord Venkateswara is none other than Lord Vishnu who came down to earth from Vaikuntam in search of Sri Lakshmi and

finally found her here, who had born as Padmavati. He got married to her in a very pompous way by taking loan from Kubera. And it is believe that even today he is paying the loan and interest.

Accommodation: The Temple trust provides with free rooms for every devotee at a very reasonable rate.

How to Get There:

Road: Tirupati is very near to Chennai, which is 3 hours travel and 6 hours from Bangalore. There is a bus facility every 30 minutes or so from Bangalore.

Rail: There is a train facility to Tirupati.

Air: The nearest airport is Madras.

BEST OPTION: APSRTC has a unique tie-up with ITDC to provide SPECIAL VIP darshan to public. I feel this would be best way to visit the temple..
