Titan Eye+ defective product - help please!

Having seen the eye-catching ads all over the city and media, I decided to get a new pair of spectacles for myself at Titan Eye+.

Now I resent that decision, without having done a simple search at mouthshut as I usually do.

Anyway, here’s my story - forgive me if it reads like Vikram aur Betaal.

I chose the Velachery, Chennai outlet, being the one closest to my home. I went in one Saturday evening in the last week of June,

and after going thru the eye test, started looking at the frames. Here, a word about my requirement:

I am a minus-power lens-wearer since my 9th standard(now 40+),

and since two years, also having plus-power, and also cylindrical power(100deg) in one eye.

My most recent specs change had been two years back, at a local outlet, and the whole thing - above mentioned lens plus

a decent top-metal frame - costed about Rs 2200 only.

I still wear it.

Coming back to Titan Eye+, I chose a really top-end frame costing 5500, and the final cost came to 13000.

I was told to wait for their call in 3-4 days time, then go and collect the specs.

No such call came, so I went after a week, and the specs was ready. I started wearing it, but within 2 hours, started having severe headache.

And by now, I could guess the reason - the specs was tilted down to one side, even after I move it back to horizontal,

it keeps sliding down to one side.

Naturally I reverted to my old pair of specs, and next day I went back to TE+ and told them. The optometrist tinkered with the specs

and it seemed to fix the problem.

But when I wore it again, I started having ghe headaches again, and again the frame was tilted, for sure.

So I went back, I was asked to leave the specs with them, they said they will call, no call came in 3 days,

so I went back and the said they have fixed it thru their factory in Bangalore,

but no, the headache is back.

So, I went back(for the 9th time, if you have been keeping count), and really gave them a piece of my mind.

I was told by Mr Kamlesh that there is a problem with my eyes probably, that the specs is alright.

I decided to take it seriously, so went to my eye doctor(Dr Mary Joseph, Vasan Eye Care, Madipakkam).

After performing lots of tests for 4 hours, including Glaucoma Fields, I was told that my eyes were alright,

and also that the two specs - old one as well as the new one from TE+ - were both almost same w.r.t power, and they were ok.

But they also agreed that the specs is tilted to one side, andthat is the cause of problems.

But they adviced me to go back to TE+, as it is costly stuff and they do not want to touch it themselves.

So I went back again, and this time they said they will send it to Essilor - the lens maker - and to wait for the Essilor guy to come.

Next week, I met the Essilor guy at TE+, and he agreed that the specs is tilted to one side, and said he will fix it at Essilor’s Bangalore factory.

So after a week, I got back the "repaired" specs. By now, I had become expert at judging the "tilt" of the specs,

so I found that the repaired one was also not good enough.

They said, wear it for some time, you will get "used" to it.

So I wore it for couple of hours, but by now the head ache was unbearable, and I was unable to drive or work.

The matter stands at this point now. I have completely lost confidence in TE+’s ability to fix my glasses.

I feel they should replace my glasses, or refund my money.

There is no information on TE+ websire about whom to complain to incase of problems with franchisees.

Will be thankful for help from some one who has gone thru similar ordeal.
