I bought a brand-new Fast Track Sunglass for about Rs 1500 2 months ago. As with buying any eye gear I wanted to have a good trusted brand and so went for Fast Track (I own several watches of the same brand). However, I should have known better. I had tried on the glass and purchased it, but when I wore it for the first time the next morning, I felt something was not right.
Once I started walking on the road, the road appeared to be slanting downwards (whereas it wan’t) making it difficult for me to walk as I was misjudging my steps. I almost fell with a pothole on the road. So, the same evening, I had taken the pair to the Titan outlet where I bought it and wanted them to change it as the lens was not good. But, they said the problem was with my eyes. So, I went ahead and got my eyes tested and I had 20/20 vision. Now, I went back to them with the doctor’s prescription stating my eyes’ power and now they said that I have to go to an optometrist and get a certificate that the lens of the sunglasses had power!
I was shocked to say the least...Here was this great trusted brand with this swanky showroom, selling these glasses but they wanted me to get a certificate about their product from an outside person. They have a year’s warranty on it and they should be sending it to their experts to check for any defect. Sorry to say, I was very very disappointed. The reason why someone would buy is because of their brand name and the trust which comes with their quality. If their quality is poorer than a unbranded glass why should we pay thousands for the same.
The worst part of it is I have given the certificate with the glasses power and am waiting for a replacement. Worn by people with good vision, these glasses could really damage the eyes. So I would not recommend anyone going for these glasses as some other glasses which I tried out the third time I went with the certificate were also having the same problem. So beware, dont waste your money on this one!
