~ Titanic : The Eternal Love Story ~

When I term Titanic as an eternal love story, it isn’t only the love story

of Rose (Kate Winslet) and Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) that I am referring to.

It is the love story of Man which beautifully depicts his love for Love,

Life, Survival, Pride, Status, Existence, Money & God.

I vaguely remember watching Titanic when I was in School but watching it

now, that too in 3D had a different meaning altogether. It might be because

when we grow as a person we understand emotions and its depth better.

The movie still has that fresh appeal and if you haven’t watched it ever, then go for

it and if u have watched it earlier then watching it again might help you

develop a new purview.

Let me brief you on the story and refresh your memory... Directed by James

Cameron, the story is about a Giant Ship, it was the first ever ship to

carry 2, 223 people from England to New York. It collided an Iceberg on

14th April, 1912 and only 710 survived the unfortunate disaster. The belief it

carried was - "God Himself Couldn’t Sink the Titanic".

The movie though inspired by the tragic incident draws our attention

towards the life of people belonging to different statures of society.

Was it mere Luck that brought Jack to this Ship? May be it was Luck as his

presence has changed Rose’s Life.

The movie begins with underwater view of the humongous Ship. The 3D view of

which makes you a part of the expedition. Brock Lovett (Bill Paxton) and

his crew are frantically searching for the "Heart of the Ocean". Though

their attempt of finding it wasn’t successful, it leads them to Rose. She

is 84 years old now. She is called for and we get to hear the tale the Ship

carried with it.

The story takes us back to 1912 and among a lot many Characters, we are introduced to Rose who depicts the feeling of being Out of Place. She boards the ship along with her mother, Ruth

DeWitt Bukater (Frances Fisher) and fiancé, Caledon Nathan (Billy Zane).

For Rose, this ship is like any other Slave Ship.

Jack on the other hand is happy go lucky man who won two third-class

passenger tickets in a poker game. He is all set to experience this thrill

with his friend Fabrizio. A very friendly man by nature, Jack is an Artist

at heart. He meets Rose on the deck when she attempts to throw herself off

the stern of the ship.

Watch this movie to find out how Jack changes her Life but loses his own.

Love as Depicted in Titanic :

Love of Pride : When the news of the expected disaster reaches the people

on board, we experience the sense of pride a high class woman has who is

willing to sit in a life boat with only High class women.

The Mother’s pride which forces her daughter into having a marriage alliance with a

man she doesn’t like.

The Pride of the builders of Titanic that stops them from having sufficient

life boats as for them expecting a disaster is blasphemous.

The Lost Pride that doesn’t let Thomas Andrews (Victor Garber) and

Captain Edward John Smith (Bernard Hill) leave the ship.

Love for Money and Things that makes people carry their stuff on

the Life boat forgetting that when it is the matter of Life, things

lose all their worth.

The Love of God that makes people pray even till their last breath.

and finally

The Love for Love that makes Rose step out of the Life boat and return to Jack.

There are movies which aren’t to be watched but to be experienced and

certainly this is one of those...!

Thanks for Reading~!
