Every once in a while the conversation will turn to classic movies.Ill mention Titanic.Expecting to simply enjoy the story again, I was surprised to find that the movie has lost none of its power over these 8 years. I cried again....
The film opens and closes with present day scenes of Bill Paxton as Brock Lovett, a treasurer hunter in search of a long lost diamond. He uses a vehicle to dive two and a half miles below the Atlantic to film the ruins of the ship, which is actual footage of the real Titanic.
He then calls upon the aid of Rose DeWitt Bukater, now a 102 year old survivor of the wreck, to unravel the mystery of the priceless blue diamond. T
Viewers are then taken back to 1912 when Rose (Kate Winslet) is a 17 year old American girl traveling with her hot tempered millionaire fiance, Cal Hockley (Billy Zane).
20 year old Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a struggling artist who wins his steerage ticket in a poker game. After Jack saves Rose from a suicide attempt, then the love starts to blossom on its way.....
Winner of 11 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, James Camerons Titanic is an epic where you dont just watch the film, you experience it!
I would highly recommend , if interested, to purchase the DVD and view the deleted scenes and alternative ending..
