Holidays...dont we all just love them? A break from the trials and tribulations of life. An excuse to wake up at two in the afternoon (not that Ive ever done that of course!) A time of going out and enjoying the simple yet beautiful things of life, which you cant do with the pressure of work hanging over you. A method of basically ruining your daily routine and jumping into the pool of laziness, which leaves you with a true feeling of serenity, until they end and then you desperately try to get back to the routine, i.e. by setting your alarm clock for 6 in the morning and then accidentally on purpose breaking it! But again, I havent done that. And lets not think about going back to our routines and think of the best times in the year.
Occasionally, some of you lovely people out there may just want to take a break from your life in India or the UK or the US or wherever you live and go abroad, have fun in new and intriguing surroundings. I for one have done that for an endless number of times, and I totally assure you that it is much better than staying at home and stuffing yourself with junk food and watching television because theres nothing to do. (Another reason why I love my India, theres always something to do!)
The one thing that can spoil a holiday is weather. So, beware of travelling half way around the world, where it is in fact winter and getting welcomed by torrents of rain. There are many ways of travelling, the most common being by plane. When people go on holiday, they are expected to splurge, its obviously natural. But a plane ticket is the most expensive thing ever (whilst travelling by concorde which incidentally doesnt exist anymore, ah well!), especially when travelling during the peak times, i.e. summer and winter! So if you want to travel somewhere where you can use car or ferry or whatever then do that!
Ok now Im just bhak bhaking and not telling you which five are my favourite destinations, so now I will move straight to the point! (Finally! I hear you say...grrr.)
As usual I will go from five to one, to keep you in suspense (Im mean in that way), so please keep your seat belts on throughout the whole of this tour. If we face turbulence at any time in the journey and manage to crash, then our reviewline is not responsible for not giving you oxygen masks or life jackets. Thank you and please travel again with us.
Five: Paris, France: Of course at this time of year, any part of France would be a wonderful place to visit, it is so hot. (So unfair, France is right next to us and its freezing here!) But Paris has the X factor, or the ET factor I should say. No, before you start screaming, it has not been invaded by aliens. It has the presence of the Eiffel Tower, which as well as being one of the seven wonders of the world, can be seen from almost anywhere in the city. As well as this there are lots of museums (which are very interesting...I know so many people find them boring but really, theyre not!), beautiful castles and other monuments, breath-taking scenery and there is the French spectacle hosted there every summer.
But this isnt the reason I like Paris so much. When you visit, you are immediately greeted by a feel of serenity and community spirit. Although a busy city, you always feel so calm and enthralled in it and the population is willing to help you anywhere. By the way, if you do visit Paris then you have to try the pancakes, they are absolutely gorgeous! (Typical me, referring to food!) Well, most French food is gorgeous, as long as its not something completely disgusting like snails and frogs legs. Jadore la fromage francais!
Four: Switzerland: Also located in Europe, this is just the type of place to be when you want a break from the blistering heat. Although in some parts, it is quite warm, much of Switzerland is taken by the Alps. Skiing, snowboarding, mountain climbing and even just admiring the scenery can all be done here. Switzerland is also famous for its cuckoo clocks, which have a little cockerel and it comes out of the clock every hour. It is adorable!
But anyway, Switzerland also holds host to many Swarovski crystal factories and is the ideal place for jewellery shopping (especially for me :D). I particularly like Switzerland because it doesnt need a hot climate to make it into a huge tourist attraction, and it is full of so many activities. I also love the gorgeous scenery, which happens to be some of the most breath-taking I have ever seen!
Three: Canada: This is located in North America, and is another country which has extreme temperatures. However that isnt why I love it. Nor is the reason the cool Canadian accents that people have, although I do love them. Canada is nothing exotic, however it has so many natural and man made attractions within it, and that is why it is number three. On the border of both Canada and the USA are the Niagra Falls which will take your breath away however times you see them. Some days, they are illuminated by different coloured lights and beautiful fireworks, which makes the scene more breathtaking.
Also within Canada is the CN tower with a glass floor looking down, many large city centers and the worlds largest science museum. (Oh no shes back to museums again, I hear you say, but I will try and persuade you to like them by the end of this lamba sa review!) My favourite concept of Canada are the people and their togetherness. Everyone seems to know everyone else and people get along so well. I also love the way it can become incredibly hot during summer and incredibly cold during winter :-)
Two: Florida, USA: I bet you were expecting this one. Well what can I say about Florida? This is definitely a very exotic area, with a hot climate (and torrential rains :O) through and through. Obviously the main attraction is Disneyland, with six different parks to visit, each one as wonderful and as different as the next.
Then there are other media related areas such as Universal Studios, and Florida is also jam packed full of amusement parks. (And scary rides which make you scream!) There are also beaches such as Miami beach and animal areas such as Sea World. I like Florida because it provides you with enjoyment at any angle you turn! So it is number two.
Oh dear. I can feel some turbulence, everyone hold tight :P
One: Mera Bhaarat mahaan: What else could it be? Aur kya? I have so many fond memories in my Bhaarat and I love my India so so much. There is anything and everything to do in India from enjoying the rain to going to Essel World! I love everything, the clothes, the atmosphere, the weather, the shops, the roads, the taxis, the rickshaws, the houses, the bungalows, the flats, the little stalls on the streets, the food (oh especially that!), the people, the Energee (that too!) and the apnapan!
I could visit India again and again and never get tired of it, and every visit holds a new surprise! I love everything about India, but particularly the fact that I feel right at home there and I seem to know everyone. So India is number one pour moi!
Yeh duniya, ek dulhan,
Yeh duniya ek dulhan dulhan,
Ke mathe ki bindaya,
Yeh mera India, I love my India
meaning:
This world is a bride,
This world is a bride,
And the bindi on her head is:
My India, I love my India
So my lovely moutshutians, I hope you enjoyed this tour around the world. (well almost!) Apologies for the turbulence but we think that it was caused by your excitement to see what was number one, so you really cant sue our reviewlines can you? We wish you a safe journey back and hope you will travel with us again!
To my favourite destinations, and my India!
Dont forget to RRC...:-)
