Wonderful Toronto

If you are planning a trip to Canada, don’t miss Toronto. It is, or is very close to being, Canada’s largest city. Pearson International Airport will most likely be your first taste of the city. It is a modern airport with 3 terminals; be prepared to walk a long way when you deplane, but there are moving sidewalks. It is located in nearby Malton.

It’s a short taxi ride to downtown, approximately 30 minutes. You will most likely travel along the Gardiner Expressway to reach the city. It is a highway that crosses the bottom of the city, within view of Lake Ontario. You see the CN Tower and the skyscrapers steadily moving closer.

Toronto is always referred to as a very clean city. While, not as litter free as it once was, Toronto really is very clean. There is good sanitation service and most Torontonians try not to litter.

There is so much to do in Toronto. The night life is excellent. The city features many movie theatres, many live theatres, and a few large indoor malls. Some of the main tourist attractions are: The Eaton Center (a large indoor shopping mall), The CN Tower (the tallest free standing structure in the world), The Ontario Science Center (an interactive science museum), and The Toronto Zoo (a large zoo on the outskirts of the city). Among the free attractions are Harbourfront and The Beaches. At Harbourfront there are exhibits and an ongoing antique fair. The Beaches features miles of lake front beaches, small boutiques, parks, and beach volleyball.

Toronto also has some excellent restaurants and pubs. There are many British-style pubs where you can catch the latest British football games, cricket games, or darts tournaments. When it comes to food, there is no limit to the type of food you can get. There are excellent Indian restaurants, many Thai and other Asian restaurants, American food, etc.

Toronto is a very multicultural city. We have people from every part of the world and, for the most part, they get on with each other.

Toronto is not a cheap city. Restaurant and store prices are comparable to New York City. However, you can find many excellent budget hotels and restaurants that are clean and comfortable.

I would definitely recommend you try and visit Toronto once in your life. You will not be disappointed.
