A pentium dual core P6200 is extremely powerful and power efficient , hence there is no heating problem same is true for the ATI Redeon HD 500 series graphics card .
I being a IIT, Delhi Student us Comsol MultiPhysics for simulation and TCAD-Silvaco for modelling and simulation, and play a lot of high end graphics games such as Crysis 2, Mass effect 2, Splinter Cell Conviction plus Adobe photoshop , MatLAB r2010b and LabVIEW. for people who dont know these software and games let me tell you that these are really resource hungry and graphic intensive applications. Which runs soo smoothly on my system with default hardware configuration. Comes with genuine win7 basic and all preloaded drivers.Also has a 1.33 MP web camera supports direct X11 and is energy star rated.
System boot time is just about 25-30 seconds.battery life is about 3 hrs on balanced and about 4.5 hrs on power saver. The HDD read speed is about 20 mbps and write head is about 17-18 mbps. fair build quality and aesthetics.
The system lacks a bluetooth, has only 2 USB v2.0 ports which is a major drawback and bad bad speakers. Me and My friends left speaker failed just after about 6 months of use. But toshiba provides a 1 year extension of warranty on certain payment.
In short a good pick for college students with intense gaming and applications. not to worry about pentium dual core as it is very powerful for our needs. dont run after faster processors and systems if your requirement is watching movies internet etc. Processor speeds are a never ending scale.
