I was really excited to book a Toshiba with features like:
Intel i5 processor(turbo upto 2.66 GHz), 512 MB dedicated graphics card, Win 7 OS(32 bit aswell as option to go for 64 bit), 3 GB Ram expandable upto 8 GB, 320 Gb hard disk and face recognition feature.but all excitation went in vain after using it.
Using it barely a month, the hard disk crashed and its with the service center till date(its been already 3 weeks with them). Some key features of this laptop which I would illustrate here that would help you understand why this laptop should at no cost be preferred to buy.
The web cam is seriously a problem. I have also checked with two of my friends who bought this laptop and they are facing the same. In light it seems ok in lower resolution but in dark/living area conditions with 2 tubes around, it really shows a blur image and if you have put face password it wont recognise you in such light conditions. The refresh rate is also very low. Toshiba himself aslo acknowledge that the face password might not work. this was checked and verified. I couldn’t able to log in using the face password in evening.
Completely inferior quality of products. My hard disk crashed in 1 month of use and my friends hard disk crashed with 10 days of use.
if by chance you have not got recovery disk made out of the utility provided and your hard disk crashed, you have to buy a windows 7 OS CD and then go to service center for servicing as they fist ask for recovery CD or Windows 7 CD. Toshiba will never provide if you loose so even if its due to hard disk crash.
Very rude customer care and very bad service. It takes 3 weeks to replace it with a hard disk if its get crashed. In my case its not even solved within 3 weeks and the customer care executive argues with this is the minimum time to be taken for such requests.
I seriously recommend never ever go for this laptop in any case rather book a Dell or Sony may be costly than this idiot box but will surely give you peace of mind
