Making positive adjustments to tragic happenings in one's life, whether acknowledged quickly or in an epiphany years later, appears to be the driving theme of the movie. All of the actors stand out, but special praise goes to Katie Boland ( "T") for the stunning emotional maturity in her pivotal scene with Genie Francis's Peyton ( the reporter whose discovery of the note leads to the rising action and emotionally catharctic denouement to the film) in which the viewers discover the special linkage between Peyton and Christine. Speaking as an adoptee who has located his birthmother, this scene and the one following it where Peyton reveals more circumstances surrounding the adoption carried special relevance for me. This film may have tugged nakedly at the heartstrings, but it is worth watching more than once for its transformative power.
