I bought a pack of Meswak toothpaste(which was clearly showing MRP of Rs 99 on top of the pack). After coming home, I found that I was charged Rs 101 for it.
Also another Baby toothpaste which was priced at an MRP of Rs 45(again written clearly on the pack), was charged at Rs 50 in the bill.
Generally, since the bill is long, customers usually dont check the contents & charged price after the billing is done at the counter, since they cant check for each & every things price what has been charged after the billing has been done & packed.
At home, I found that from a long list of items, I was thus charged Rs 7 extra in this bill alone.
In order to get the this error checked & corrected, I would have to visit Total once again immediately, which would certainly be costing me more than what I have been charged extra. So, I let it go. But, Total Mall is cheating its customers for small-small amounts more & on the whole, they would have netted a lot of amount by the end of the day.
Just in case, any customer comes back to them for correction, they would have refunded this mistake(hopefully!), but what about the amount for which customers dont come back for such small amounts?
I think this is a deliberate ploy on part of Total coz prices of these items are fed in the systems & they dont change overnight or old stock is left behind with them with old rates. They need to check this.
Finally, an advice - DO CHECK THE RATES CHARGED AFTER U HAVE PAID AT THE MALL ITSELF.
