I have bought Corolla H1 a few days back (having used it couple of years in US), and based my own survey and mouthshut reviews.
I have the following negative observations (initial). My mistake, I did not take a proper test drive inspection. I will come back with positive list after a few months on the engine and performance (if any – as claimed to be the King of 1.8, probably not Indian corolla).
Interiors are flimsy, shaky, light-weight, worthless
Window glass makes a lot noise when it hits the top or about to come down from the top.
Doors feel very light, even the door opener is flimsy
When you close the door, the right arm rest (on the door) vibrates a bit.
Shock absorbers are very poor, even a slight bad road makes the whole car feel it
Very high roof noise while raining (did not get this even in Accent)
City driving with AC gives roughly under 10 km/l (not 12+ as claimed – hope it will improve)
end-of-braking gives out a noise (both hand/leg brakes)
Immediate-front road view is poor (was better in Accent)
low-height arm rest – perhaps suitable only for Japs
No place for water bottle or a thick book
On day-2 one window glass did not lift (while closing)
Even the clock showed wrong time by +30 mints (twice)
My concern is recent reviews did not reveal much of the above to my surprise. Please take a close look while buying this King of 1.8. So far I am disappointed. Any comments from Corolla owners?
