No wonder Japs are Japs and are no match for the koreans who even in electronics have forced SONY and Panasonic to shut their factories !
Toyota ! Ah the name gives you a feel about the quality and the performance. So hows this Toyota’s baby called Corolla !?? Well I got this car for my dad last year and it runs like a dream. I must say that its the most powerful and fast car in the segment (Elatra and advertise about anything !). the Pickup is like zoom and gives you the feel of wind.
Whats makes a car ?
Engine: I dont wanna talk about the techincal details like - BHP and stuff like that (most of that is jsut a marketing gimmik as BHP is at certain RPM and most of us drivecar at low RPMs !). This car delivers good enough power for some one who wants to stretch their arms on newly made free ways like Noida toll road. The egine does get noisy at high speeds and you can feel the speed.
Gear Shift : Hard as Rock. Infact that the most disappointing thing aboutthis car. Its too hard. I have Optra, accent, city and Indica (its worst than indica!).
Suspension: I’ll give average ! Its good on good roads but as the road quality bad (thats how indian roads areanyways !) to worse the suspension thus goes BUST and you can feel bumps going in your spine ! I’ll give OPTRA FULL marks on this... you just dont feel any darm bump, ditch or stuff on the road.
Stearing and road feel: I’ll again give Average ! I would rather take skoda on a road filled with traffic rather than this car. Whe you are driving Skoda or even Optra you feel you have control, the steering feels responsive but I’ll say Corola loses out on that. The car is quite high and that can be a drawback in narrow roads.
Quality: Well I have OPTRA and after 6 months I can hear some teaking noice but I know even after 3 years that wont happen to my Corolla !
Over Corolla is a good car but for self drive I’ll prefer Skoda or Optra !
