Experience in Liva

Its a liva petrol. mileage is around 14 kmpl. good in space. but when space is utilised with 5 passengers and boot full the silencer and even the rear mud flap touches the  humps and potholes must be a city car. But my job doesn’t permit me to live in the cities alone. that doesn’t mean that the rural roads I use are bad. they are the best. But there are occasional potholes.

my first disappointment was when I thought of fitting a stereo. A single din is what I considered suited to me. But I had to witness the car accessory shop owner cutting some portion of the dashboard to fit the stereo. It reminded me of Maruti 800. It seems for Toyota this is a Maruti. Thankfully there were speakers.

Soon by the second service wipers and rear shock absorbers were changed. Shocks were replaced in warranty. Abt wiper its part of wear and tear so price paid. I had no plans to change, but service personnel said it is shaky. Believing I allowed to change it. The original one was good. But it is the replaced one thats shaky. But I cannot go to the service centre again with that complaint coz that will cost me a leave. I work 250 kms away from that centre. Though my house is just 10 kms away from it.

now I see both the front doors with some rust at that part it touches the rubber bush. QDR is not that true as far as liva is concerned. Service experience, true they have 60 minutes express service. But anything extra is not satisfactory. I really doubt whether they did wheel alignment at 20000 kms. I had to change the front tyres as it worn out unevenly that this abs model skidded on braking just when the speed was 60 kmphr new tyres are better. I bought from apollo tyres. Accelera model and  then the tyre sound reduced. All the dust accumulates at the door frames. Its irritating!

Finally, when oncoming cars outside mirror knocked my cars. The mirror glass flew off, hit the cars body fell on the road and broke. Service guy wanted me to buy the entire frame but since not even a scratch was there I disagreed. He made me wait for an hour and when enquired he said replacing the entire mirror set including the shell is easier. I asked for the mirror spare he said no counter sale and asked to wait for an hour. Atlast some angry words sped up the matter. Billed with 93 as fitting charge. I could easily fix it by locking.

Total cost 1100. So cosmetic quality and service experience are bad so far. Did not feel anything special or peculiar. The only hope is the engine. Hope quality is not compromised there. But its hard to overtake using this car. It seems only the ones who buy Innovas, Corollas, Fortuner and Camrys can experience Toyota’s Q class.
