My main requirement in my car was a Japanese branded reasonably priced reliable sedan with deep boot space and good fuel efficiency.
Toyota Etios seemed like the ideal car at that time fulfilling my requirements
Millennium Toyota offered good service.
I bought the G-Sp.model(with airbags) in May 2011 and modified it
and altered the interior and exteriors myself to suit my requirements.
- Got the chrome plated smile grill outside
2.Changed the interiors to leather beige
3.Got Blue LED door lights inside.
4.floor mats
5.Rain cover.
6.Bumper chrome plated Toyota
7.DVD Player inside
A new Amp /sony music system and 6 JBL speakers
Back seat reading lamp
10. Reverse sensors
11. All 4 Sports Mag wheels
all this for a lakh Rupees and my etios looks like a fabulous sedan which always gains attention at every signal. Etios Pros:-
1) Electric Power steering - makes a very comfy drive esp for city roads
2) Boot space - fantastic enough to load up 8 medium stolley bags.
3) No hump under the middle seat in the back makes a comfortable seating in long journey for 3 people.
4) Great leg room.
5) Toyota Reliability
6) low maintenance.
7) Good mileage on long drives
Etios Cons:-
Mileage not as promised (most definitely not 17.57 kmpl)
Extremely noisy engine (petrol pumps always double question if petrol or diesel due engine noise).
The engine noise is loud also because the body is made from thinner metal
Faulty shock absorbers - on a fully loaded Etios the underbelly will surely scrape on the speed breakers
Plastics and fibre material used in the car is not sturdy and seems low grade.
6.The slightest ditch or pothole gives a complete body jerk as not smooth on bad roads
