I was looking for a SUV to use it as my family car. When Duster launched I thought of it and went to a dealer to have a look on it.
But what I got is a highly overpriced( according to its features and space) stylish only car. Neither it is a sedan nor a SUV or MPV. Then ford Ecosport launched. Oh god, that is worse than Duster. It is not more than a extended hatchback.
Yes, I thought of Maruti Ertiga, but I did not find it spacious although all other criteria was good for me. So I thought why not try the reliable Toyota product Innova, so I tried my research on internet and also inquired to friends, colleagues, relatives etc.
I’ve gone through various automobile sites and read user reviews on Innova. but I got confused as some users told it a good reliable car but some others also told that they not like this SUV. after reading this review https://goo.gl/o6Jl7r I decided why not do a test drive of Innova and take a decision. This is my summary of review on Innova after test driving and feedback of my offline sources.
Yes Innova is reliable as it is from Toyota and also my friends n colleagues told that. Interior is ok but I didn’t feel any luxury even the price is almost 14 lacs. One can expect some sophisticated interior after spending 14 lacs. but I think Innova has failed on this count. Space inside the car is very good for the 1st n 2nd row and 5 people have enough legroom n headroom, but the 3rd row space is very bad.
I tried to sit on the 3rd row but couldn’t fit. it is only for children. Even average built adults can seat there. so it is another negative I found on Innova. Other features like power window, armrest, touch screen audio system with Bluetooth, AC, seats are good and comfortable. Nobody can complain about them. pickup is also good and driving control is good.
I have not tested on highways, but city drive is good. suspension is good and comfortable. One thing that I must complain is the engine noise and vibration. Even when the car is standstill with engine on, noise enters cabin and you will feel the vibration on the gear also. it is a big negative point for Innova. I don’t know why Toyota has not rectified it even the car is running in India for last 8-9 years. it is a big turn off for me to buy Innova with around 14 lacs on road.
Another thing which we Indians are first to ask is "Kitna deti hai? " and Innova is not good on that point. As I dont have any opportunity to measure that, but my offline sources told me that in city traffic they get around 8kmpl on avg.
So this was my own feedback and I did not preferred Innova for my family. Now only one option left with me. Do research online n offline for Mahindra Xylo. Hope it matches most of my criteria to call it "My car."
