3 weeks back I bought my Toyota Innova and pretty much happy about it. My original choice was Mahindra Scorpio due to its image and SUV looks. Due to bad customer service and long wait to get a new Scorpio I started looking out for a alternate SUV/MUV. Below 10 lakhs budget I had only 3 options other than Scorpio......Tavera, Innova and Tata Safari. Tavera and Safari didnot impress me so I zeroed in on Innova. Interaction with Nandi Toyota (Bangalore) was very pleasant and their sales guy Praveen Kumar was very responsive. The posh interiors and spacious seating in 7 seater impressed me. Only thing which I was not comfortable was its looks but with few more rides I started to like it slowly. Then finally I decided to go for Toyota Innova G4 (Diesel) model. I booked the vehicle on Sat and the car was delivered on Wed. It was virtually a door step delivery by Nandi Toyota. So far Iam very satisfied with the customer service provided by Nandi Toyota.
Now let me try to highlight some pros & cons I have discovered after riding Innova for 3 weeks:
Pros: Very spacious and a great people mover. My family loves it and my son enjoys its ride. AC is very powerfull and good pull with AC on. Engine pretty silent for a diesel one and exhaust pretty low. Interiors are pretty decent and it gives the car a classy look. Power Steering very good and turning radius very good. Inspite of the bulk very easy to drive around the city. Mileage with AC on is between 10 & 11 KM/litre. Hope it will improve after first service. Dont feel any jerks at high speeds. Suspensions very good and no body roll on uneven surface. Very good handling on road.
Cons: Paint is scratched very easily. Need to have some sort of cladding to reduce the chances of scratches to appear on body. Parking a big problem and parallel parking a nightmare. The Car stereo which comes with G4 model is of no use and of very inferior quality. Toyota should either not give this Audio system or if they give then it should be of decent quality. The high end model is pretty expensive but some its feature like ABS should be there in G4 model also. Compared to Scorpio the power in Innova is less.
