We bought a 2007 G4 8 seater innova and it is still with us today 7 years later. No other vehicle we have owned in the past has been so reliable period. our car has already clocked 140000kms and recently went for a service with a bill for rs 3500 only. amazing.
I cant think of any vehicle in its price range that is more reliable and comfortable for 5 passengers. i’ve found the 8seater version to be more comfortable and practical than the 7 seaters. the vehicle has received upgrades over the years, (mostly cosmetic) but nothing has been changed mechanically and that is a good thing. why change something that is working so well.
Having said that it could use a bit of an upgrade. given the vehicle weight and build quality the mileage of around 13kmpl on highways is acceptable. the competition is not too good in this area as well. city driving cannot be easier for a vehicle its size. they also got the suspension set up spot on as its a very balanced ride upto 120kmph.
Toyota’s own flagship fortuner assembled here has got a very harsh ride compared to the innova. however the vehicle could be a little more relaxed on highways with the help of a 6speed transmission. currently the engine speed is very high at 100km/hr and hence not relaxed. the only major problem we’ve Faced with the car is a failure of a fuel pump and clutch needing minor work on it. otherwise im a very happy customer and would definitely recommend and buy this car again.
