There is nothing to feel proud of America in Katrina hurricane. That is at least the commentator was telling on BBC.

We expect to see relief work in progress and what we see is police on the run or on chase because of looting by armed goondas ! In American language ’’armed looters’’.
Even relief camps are not spared. In relief camps people are huddled and still most surprising and shocking to the world , the rapes are being committed even on little girls in toilets !!
In one video shot a black middle aged lady was weeping and pleading President Bush ’’ our babies are raped ! We are looted. Send someone for help’’
Do you still feel something to feel proud of America and its culture? Its materialism , violence , exclusiveness and the culture of individuals ?!!
The filth in the American sociality is glaringly exposed now. It has always been there.
The hurricane has become a hurricane in many thousand innocent lives including children, young girls and old people. They not only suffered the wrath of the nature but they are still suffering the wrath NOT of the god but of their own criminals.
America is very famous for its latest weapons. And I think they are not at all prepared to handle homeland security ! And the least prepared to handle dance of destruction brought by nature.
India has offered military help ! It is ready now to send armed medical corps to deal with the situation. India already contributed 5 million dollars to Red Cross. Indian people have lot of sympathy for a democratic nation like America. At an individual level I felt it difficult to see the woe , the tragedy unleashed , and very difficult to see weeping, crying middle aged women narrating the atrocities committed on them.
Hurricane has come and gone. Even after 6 days the water logged just like that ( not subsided even an inch and the govt is at a loss to understand what exactly to do !!! , the drainage system of the city is collapsed, the various companies which build houses there and develop colonies which all look alike are nowhere to be seen now) and many middle aged and old aged people are developing skin rashes.
America government exposed itself with their inability to handle the situation. They do not know any method of salvation. India said ( Indian ambassador conveyed to the US president) that it has enormous experience in dealing with floods and emergency aid to the victims. India is also the largest producer of medicines. So it offered help and there is nothing wrong for US to accept the help of Indian army corps.
Indian government also should not forget that government agencies help here is actually possible by cooperation of the people in general by their attitudes. Here you would not have law and order problem while there is a sunami, or toofan ( hurricane), or floods by heavy rains. People help themselves here even before government agencies step in. And you will not have problems like rape and looting while victim’s dead bodies are floating everywhere !! , Not here even by worst goondas.
This Hurricane Katrina problem is not yet over. There is not even proper drinking water. But even that is a small problem compared to expected health problems those may set in through the wounds the victims suffered ! In Bombay that was what happened and dealt with a quick diagnosis of that particular disease.
White people are said to have lesser resistance to disease compared to the brown people like us. So the medical facilities should be given highest priority now.
American economy is a highly debt economy, very much dependent of highly raised debt . That is why the help from rich gulf countries is the hour of the need and you may say help even from developing countries like us is most essential.
