At first, I was very happy to buy one of these transcend external USB 3.0 hard disk. These hard disk were cheap and offers high speed of USB 3.0. It also came with shock proof technology and was claimed of water proof. These features were not present in any of the other brands. The military grade shock protection was one of the thing that lured me into buying this hard disk.
May be the unit I received was not in it’s pristine condition or whatever may be the reason I don’t know. But it failed in a year. I thought it is covered in warranty as I have done the mandatory online registration of the product on transcend website. So I started to search transcends service centre. At that time I got to know that it doesn’t have any service center in India. I was shocked and was very depressed about it.
Nowadays, some people say that transcend has regulated some service centers in india. But for me, it is of no use because the warranty of my hard disk is over now.
So be aware of service centers of transcend in your city before purchasing it.
