It is my second 25 M3. I have been using my first since Nov12. It has survived a fall from almost 3 feet height(not surprising as it is rugged) and its speed is the same( avg of 70mb/s in USB 3.0) since12.
The biggest USP of this HDD is the rugged factor. The 25M3B(note theB there) is the newest offering from transcend. It is similar to 25 M3 in almost all aspects except for the USB cable and the color(of course). The USB cable is not the dual cable one of 25 M3, its a much shorter one with only one cable.
The main problem with Transcend products is the danger of getting a fake product. They have provided a solution to it - one can check if the product is original or fake by entering the 10-digit serial number of the product in theirProduct Verification page of the Transcend website. Also one can register their product with Transcend.
Another is the low-quality interface of the softwares provided.
Check the health of the HDD using the softwareCrystal DiskInfo or any similar software.
Its a good buy if you are looking for a rugged portable HDD in the 4000-5000 range.
