I have 3 units of Transcend 1TB USB 3.0 portable external USB hard disks. Two of them are working fine, but one of them faulted in less than 1 years time. I reached to the ACCEL ICIM support at Nehru Place Delhi for the replacement of the same and there the ordeal started.
1) Transcend is having no service setup of their own in India and all faulty hardware is sent back to Malaysia/Taiwan
2) Minimum return time explained to me was 60 days and maximum 100 days.
3) After 150 days now, I am still waiting for the replacement and there is no word from the outsourced service center of Transcend.
4) Everytime I approach them they say that the replacement is yet to be recieved and I can collect it once received.
5) The phone numbers provided by them are never answered(100%)
6) If you visit their center 5 times, you end up spending more fuel than the cost of the hard disk itself. I have already made more visits than this.
7) Though the hardware quality from Transcend is good, but you cant say the same for their service quality, as the present facility is as good as none.
Advice to buyers: Buy any Transcend device with an assumption ofuse and throw, as soon as it develops any fault
Buyer must check out for better brands available in the market, with local support.
