Today I went to watch the long awaited sequel to the Transformers series - the last knight.
I have to admit that I was quite disappointed with the plot of the movie. The movie much like its prequels shows the exploits of Optimus Prime and the autobots on earth.I found the plot very similar to its prequels.
The same old autobots versus decepticons thing where Optimus defeats Megatron at the final fight scene. The autobots fight against a formidable opponent, optimuss srceen time was considerably reduced and bumblebee plays an important part through out the movie.I felt the plot was more like a combination of its two prequels- Transformers: Revenge of the fallen and Transformers: Age of extinction.Dont get me wrong I myself am a fan of the series but I was expecting bit more than it had to offer.
PLOT-The plot was somewhat similar to its prequels. Although some new plots were revealed along the storyline which will be included in its upcoming sequels. The story revolves around autobots fighting to protect earth in an ensued war with decepticons while optimus is away looking for their creator in cybertron. The history of the autobots with mankind along with some unknown secrets is revealed to the audience.
CAST & PERFORMANCE-
The cast included-
Josh Whalberg
Josh Duhamel
Stanley Tucci
The same from the Age of Extinction. The performance was good mainly Kurt Yeager( josh Whalberg) and Lt. William( Duhamel) fit into their roles perfectly. The effort of the rest of the team was decent enough.
CIMEMATOGRAPHY & ANIMATION-
The Animation was exemplary as expected from the transformers series they paid very close attention to every minute detail that complimented each action sequence.
Cinematography was decent but no such noticeable creative efforts were visible in the movie.
MUSIC-
The action tracks went well with the fight scenes specially at the end of the movie before the final fight scene.
QUALITY-
The potential build up of the characters newly introduced was good at the begining but then they lost their spark like in the case of the character Izabella and Hopkins who plays the role of an English Lord.
The movie had chances to pick up but faild at each moment.
STORYLINE-
The story line was simliar to two of its sequels and at times it got confusing. The movie failed to clarify the newly revealed secrets.
OVERALL EXPERIENCE-
The movie failed to meet the expectations of many of its fansMostly it had a couple of flashy explosions and autobots and humans dieing. The movie failed as a sequel to the transformers series. The storyline got a bit sloppy at the middle and in the begining light should have been shed upon some important factors that were newly revealed to the audience.
Overall the movie was unsatisfying.
