Well, human greed takes over - I booked a ticket under Indiatimes auction on 8th Dec for a 24th Dec Mum-Chennai flight, costed me Rs 6 K and the promo said "Rs 1000 gift voucher" if you book before 8th December(also said not valid on spicejet/air deccan) so I booked the tickets on a relative expensive Indian Airlines, thinking that if I get my Rs 1000 back, it will work a little cheaper than Air Deccan(Deccan would have costed me Rs 5500(2 ticks).
So I was glad that my constant’browsing’ paid off and I will make a Rs 500 save! Just to be doubly sure - I copied the terms and conditions onto a word file. You cant believe the Indian service providers - the Terms and conditons have all the details.
I waited for abt 15 days for the voucher to arrive, it didnt(as usual) - I then called/emailed Indiatimes for about 20 days with no luck(their IVR sucks, Indian Railways is better!) finally I realised that you need to be’impolite’ to the telephone agent else the merry go around will continue. So I shouted my heart out on one poor lady, she finally agreed to give me an email ID where somebody will respond. So I emailed and then got a response which said " Tickets on auctions are not eligible". I asked the person as to where is it mentioned? Havent got the answer yet.
Terms and conditions attached for your reference. **Moral of the story guys: Buy from your neighbourhood agent - he will not cheat you! Indiatimes, Your service levels are very bad & I do hope that you improve and implement the promises made to customers.
