I have used Travel Guru for booking in almost 10 different destinations. there was no probs. though I always knew that I was paying about 15% more at most of the destinations than if I had just seen there web site chosen the best hotel, looked for the hotel number directly on google and then booked I cud have easily saved 15% of the money.
I even made sure that I went thru there customer care executive so that if I had any problems at any place I can call them up.
When things were going fine there was no problem but recently I went to Kumarakom and booked a boat house "Grandeur". this was one of the worst experiances of my life. I had a very horrible stay there with the staff almost threatning me and I also came to know that there is nothing called "Grandeur" houseboat, they are simply a set of local small, smelly houseboats strung togeather.
When I came back I called up TG and explained to them the things that had taken place and they said that they will take action, after 10 days they came back with a very sorry explanation that they will can only take action at the end of the year. they simply don’t care that in the mean time many more innocent tourist will have to endure the same thing.
I was even more shoked to learn that there were better options available for a lot less.
