Worst Online Booking Site - No Accountability

I booked a hotel for my parents stay(26th april) in Kashmir on 17th April. The booking was confirmed as per the mail and the money was deducted. Just out of curiosity I checked with hotel the directly on 20th April and hotel had no booking on my name.


When I went back to Travelguru help desk they said booking is not confirmed and they will update me later on booking status.


They also said if booking is not confirmed we will mail you alternate hotels of same level and in the same area. I asked them to mail me the alternate hotel today only but the mail never came.(this is how you fool your customer #PART 1).


Next  day I called them again, and again the same answer- the team is working on the issue!(How to fool #part2) while the hotel manager clearly said we don’t have any rooms to accommodate.


Finally on D-day 22nd April they called me in the morning to tell me that we cannot provide the room and canceling your booking, no alternate hotel no compensation nothing. Now on 22nd april I am frantically searching for any room that I can find, but most of good hotels are booked.


Final Verdict- It is completely understandable if Travelguru cannot provide hotels, but wasting others time and then just walking away is not professional. First and last experience. Make my trip here I come!:)


Updates- Within 10 minute of posting this review I have got a call back that they will look into it about what exactly happened. If they take it professionally and find the exact cause what happened then no issues in increasing the rating - and for 10 min call back will change rating from 1 to 2.
