I booked a hotel through Travelguru.com for a trip to Sikkim. Our booking was provisional and after making cash payment to their agent a day later it was confirmed. We got confirmation mail from Travelguru and welcome mail from the hotel.
To our horror we the previous night at 10PM we were told that our hotel booking was cancelled and they offered one hotel of their choice and asked us to confirm within few minutes.
We had no choice as we were en route (at Siliguri) and we accepted it. The hotel we had booked was higher priced.
They said they will refund the difference- they have not done it in 2 months. We made repeated request to speak to some senior manager but we have not been able to go beyond the customer care ’call center’.
So I have decided never to trust Travelguru.com. and advise all of you to avoid this agency if you do not want last minute cancellations.
