This email is to share my pathetic experience of booking Hotel through travel guru for the 18th Feb 2016
Booking ID: TGU0002713836.
Date of Booking – 16 Feb 2016
Date of Checkin – 18th Feb 2016
I booked LeMadhulika Hotel in Udaipur for the 18th Feb 2016 through travel guru on the 16th Feb 2016. On making the online payment we even got a confirmation the same day(16th Feb) from Travel Guru stating that our booking was confirmed. On reaching Udaipur on the 18th Feb 16 morning 8:00 am, I took a taxi from the Railway station and reached the Hotel, the Hotel front office staff informed us that our booking was not confirmed as the Hotel was fully sold and the same was informed by them to Travel Guru as well. On my request the hotel front office staff also confirmed to me in written that my booking was not confirmed and was well in time informed to Travel Guru.
On contacting the Travel Guru Customer care at 9:00 am in the morning of 18th Feb, with all their arrogance they advised that nothing could be done and that they shall refund our amount. Despite of flawlessly planning my trip, I was left stranded with my 2 daughters(1 less than a year old) because of false booking made by travel guru.
To my utter shock after about 3-4 hours on the 18th Feb 16, I receive another email from Travel Guru stating that they had cancelled my booking at my request. I was shocked looking at that email and replied to them stating that I had not cancelled my booking and had reached the Hotel to check in however was declined check in.
To my reply, I received another email from them, stating that they shall provide me with Rs 1000 Gift voucher that I could utilize in my future bookings made through them.
Travel Guru Team literally screwed up our trip, despite of a confirmed booking left us stranded like unattended guests. Their customer service team still maintained their high headedness and arrogance through both their voice response and email.
They need to understand that what they have done is unacceptable. For Travel guru team it was just another blunder by them which they think they could compensate by simply refunding the booking amount.
