Recently I booked one hotel through Travelguru.com and received confirmation voucher for my booking as well. But later when I called hotel for double check, I was surprised to hear him saying that hotel is sold out fully for that date before my booking and he asked to speak with travelguru. When I called them on their cust care number(which is STD; not even toll free) they assured me of confirming booking in same hotel saying their marketing manager is in touch with hotel owner. I even wrote email to travelguru asking for final confirmation on my booking. They did not even bother to reach me on their own anytime later.
I myself called and emailed repeatedly to reconfirm and I even said will cancel my booking as I don’t wanted to take risk after reading reviews later about travelguru on mouthshut.com . But they said it is confirmed in same hotel through email and also I called up hotel again and person told me it is confirmed so I decided to live with it.
But after reaching venue for check in at late evening 8.30pm with my family(that too I had called hotel 3times from morning informing him about my check in timings), I was shocked to see his arrogance of saying that hotel is full and one small room with attached toilet is there in some other bulding where you have to stay.
Huh! My blood was pumping like anything and was quiet simply because of my family and being in new place. I kept calling travelguru many times to check but all times after hearing all hungama they were telling of transfering call to’concerned’ dept but ended with NO CONCERNs shown from travelguru. Only after we reached hotel, the idiotic hotel owner called up one guy and sent him to clean the room and bathroom. What non sense is this? I was suppose to check in morning at 7.30am and repeatedly called him 3 times from morning reminding him about my late check in and also had informed him that I will be checking out per my booking on next day i.e 7.30am. In return as a bonus he started abusing me for the concerns and Qs we raised. Its being holiday season entire city was full and with no other options left we were forced to stay in that local room which nothing but car shed which was no where matching to my paid amount.
Interestingly still there is no response from travelguru on this even after complaining on this. They are big frauds and least bothered about serivce.They are nice to you till you make the payment.
So before booking hotel with them pls take sometime to read reviews on mouthshut.com, which may help you!

Stayed here for 2 nights. Had booked Superior room but was given some basic category room. Floor was not swept, bathroom and sinks were not all clean. Towels given were not fresh bt wet and used. Room heater was not working. Only after shouting early morning of my 1day of trip they shifted us to other room which was pretty good but not that great as well. Gheezers are pretty old ones I guess, you hardly get hot water which is a must in climate like ooty. Recreation center has not in order. Restaurant serves only veg. Overall not value for money.
