Hotel doesn't have reservation thru travelguru

I booked two rooms for 3 nights and got booking confirmation from travelguru with hotel phone number.  The day before I called hotel and they did not have my booking. Since then I called travelguru 4 times and they always kept asking for more time.


Finally evening 8 pm they confirmed that the hotel did not have a booking and offered a homestay as a replacement. Needless to say our vacation was completely spoilt. In addition, I lost time and money making calls to hotel and travelguru customer care. Customer care did not bother calling back after repeated promises of doing so at 1 pm, 5pm etc.


Beware .... if you are lucky you may get the hotel you booked! I have been promised a full refund in 10 working days, let me see if they actually deliver on that.
